Middle finger to the government!!

I love writing. But I am very lazy too. Had been finding it very hard to balance these two habits of my life and finally I found the time to write again. Only because I am bloody pissed off about what is going on with our country right now.

In 1947 our country gained freedom; or so many thought. But ask yourself what has changed since that day. It feels like we are still being ruled by imbeciles. Gandhi (however he may have been as a person) fought for a cause. He fought for us, for the nation, to save it from the clutches of the British. Today again it seems like the clock has rewound. The Government is trying its best to curb our rights and to send us all back to the Stone Age and one man. Yes again!! One man is standing up for it. Anna Hazare. What a brave individual. Self righteous and incorruptible (hope I am not proved wrong). Sir, I take my hat off to you.

What has become of this glorious nation? Do we not realize how rich and great we are in wealth and tradition? For over 100 years we let the British loot our nation of every penny it had. Do any of you know that if it weren’t for the British, India would be the richest nation today economically? We could argue that those times were different and people weren’t that educated or exposed to the affairs of the world. But what has happened now? Instead of the British our politicians are looting us. Every hard earned penny that we earn and pay as taxes for the development of our nation ends up in the pockets of these men and women. Why is it that the rich keep getting richer and the poor poorer? It is because those who are in charge of running this nation fill their pockets enough to last the next 20 generations of their family before they even start thinking about us? They have the power and authority and the nerve to boss over us in broad daylight and get away with it. If a common man tries to stand up to them, he gets shot down. While we just sit back and watch. Ask yourself how many of you ever actually tried to make a difference. We all just rolled our eyes, shook our heads at the sorry state of affairs in our country. This is our chance to stand up and be counted. Show these people that if not for us their coffers would be empty.

If you are a true Indian at heart you cannot deny the fact that your blood boils every time you hear of an act of corruption (which these days is a daily occurrence). Every single day a new scam breaks out and new criminals emerge. The media shout from their rooftops and we all sit back and gasp and feel sorry for our country. But these criminals know well enough that every controversy eventually fades away. How many of you still feel the anger and resentment you felt when you first found out about Ajmal Kasab? Can you believe he is still alive and the government spends a whopping Lakh a day just to keep him alive? This is the same guy who went ballistic with his gun firing at every Indian he could lay his eyes on. We of course don’t think about it much because neither we nor any of those who were close to us were at the receiving end of that madman and his team of henchmen.

Moving on to the topic that’s currently gripping the nation, the reluctance of our government to accept a stringent LOKPAL BILL that will bring every corrupt politician under the patronage of the bill is not surprising. How will they loot the nation’s money if they are going to be held responsible for it? TSK TSK. It is very difficult indeed. They don’t want to be answerable to anybody. They have come to power haven’t they? So they believe it’s within their right to take as much money from us as possible and ensure all of it is tucked away safely in some foreign land. It was shocking to hear a statement from a Swiss Bank official, who said “Indians maybe poor but India is not a poor country.” Indian politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen have gigantic amount of black money deposited in Swiss banks. This black money is the same money that has come from your pockets and eventually ended up in the bank accounts of these Tax swindlers.

Poor old Anna Hazare is fighting a battle to get back our money, to punish each of these wrongdoers who are making our lives a living hell. Please make use of the opportunity in front of us. Don’t let this moment go. Grasp it, feel it and do something about it. Blog about it, hold protests, make little sacrifices to help our nation get back to its feet. Let’s show them the power of a billion people up in arms against a bunch of cowards who think they are invincible. Next time you see someone like a B.S. Yedyurappa come and talk about supporting Anna Hazare and his anti-corruption crusaders go spit in his face. We don’t need these jokers telling us how to live our lives. Wake up and see that they are laughing in your face with every move of theirs.

I am frustrated and dejected Indian. If you are too then show a MIDDLE FINGER to every individual in this nation who is doing this. Don’t stop till this is sorted out.

Hilarious News!!!!!

'A trial date is expected to be set on Thursday for 12 people arrested in connection with setting a pastor alight after accusing him of using a magic penis to sleep with women. The nine men and three women, aged between 28 and 50 will appear in the Boschfontein periodical court in Mpumalanga on charges murder and arson. The villagers, among them a community induna (headman), were arrested on February 24 after Albert Malwane, a pastor of the Izwi Zion Christian Church, was burnt to death a day before. Mpumalanga police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi said that Malwane had been dragged from his one-roomed house in the Etitandini informal settlement near Jeppes Reef south of Malalane and taken to a hill, where he was set alight.

'Malwane's house was also burnt and his wife and daughter went into hiding. Community members had accused him of talking to animals and using an invisible penis to sleep with women in the informal settlement. They also accused his wife of turning into a snail and terrorising the community'

Its bloody true..LMAO

A little thing called Death

Death is such a leveler isn't it? No matter who you are or what you have been in life, at the end everything you have been is reduced to ashes.

Today I had the unfortunate experience of having to face a good friend who had just lost his father. The sheer pain and hurt on the faces of the grieved ones is so enormous that for a moment in your life everything seems dark. Watching your friends cry is an extremely painful ordeal, even more so when the cause for it is death. How could you possibly console someone when they say " I miss him and I cant believe he's gone forever and I shall never experience his love again".

In the middle of all this my friend says "When you fight with your parents you feel you hate them and can't tolerate them anymore! But only during a time like this do you truly know how you feel about them". What a damaging statement ain't it? Just for a moment wonder and ask yourself if you have been a good child to your parents, whether you have ever done something which if came to their knowledge would totally break their heart. I certainly have! As its so commonly said " You don't know the importance of something unless you no longer have it" Imagine for a moment how you would feel if someone you love truly was no longer there in your life, you could no longer see them smile or hear them laugh or have them pamper you in their own special way. How it would be if you could never hear their voice or never again feel their touch! Scary ain't it?

Life is short, spend most of it showing your true feelings for someone instead doing otherwise. You only get to live once, make sure when you are in that situation you know you have been the best you can be. Spread the love :)

This song is for my dear friend and his family. I really hope you can find the courage to recover from your loss.

The Travails of future planning

The past couple of weeks have taken a very interesting turn in terms of the constant talks of how everything is going to be couple of years from now academically. And as usual Maddy comes up with a solution for all my queries. She convinced me to take up GRE in order to do my MS abroad and thus we set out trying 2 figure out how to go about the whole process. The planning is really fun and tiring too. You have got to weigh the pros and cons of what you are getting into and chalk out a plan that will work out for the best.

These are the pro's I have come up with:
  • Break from the misery that is Indian education
  • A new experience and a chance to merge with a new culture
  • Living alone and tending for myself.
  • And the various mysteries and questions the future holds.
  • A double degree implying better pay ala better future(hopefully).
And the cons are:
  • Going to miss my family and Brun.
  • The security and comfort of homeland and my people.
  • My few good friends.
  • The possibility that I will waste my time away and a shit load of my dads money along with it.
Till this point in my life I have hated having to think about the future and sit dwell on it but now it seems as though I have no other option. Over a space of a few days all I am talking about is the future and where it might be headed. Quite disturbing frankly but me being me, I am still excited going into a journey totally unprepared. There's some sort of future out there for everyone I believe. You might end up being everything you wanted, getting halfway there or end up dead within the next min. But heck you still have something to look forward. The beauty of uncertainty is amazing at times. Cant say the same while I am waiting for my stupid results to come out. Facing my first back :). Good luck to me!

Keep ya posted..

Now starts another journey

Ah! The freedom, the satisfaction. Soooooperrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

So its 3 AM and I have decided I should start blogging again. That's me! Make no sense to myself or anybody most times. But somehow off late I have this feeling that I am suppressing my natural instinct to talk about every darn thing around me. As anybody who knows me can confirm that has gotten me into a lot of trouble! And I mean seriously a lot. But heck, the worlds a free place and the internet is at my mercy and I have nothing substantial to be doing. Now I have the freedom to talk, bitch, whine, crib, criticize every thing I feel like having a say about. Just as my excitement starts to build up and I am grinning a weird grin my Labrador BRUNO is staring at me to check if I am stable. Amazing creature he is. For those of you who don't have pets you don't really no what you are missing out on. For those of you who do ain't it just the greatest? So this is me, back from my hibernation, hoping to keep it that way and keep the posts coming.

Wish me luck!
